A family takes on the Marais

What do you do when you want to visit the galleries, but you've got two energetic boys in tow? Two Canadian artists faced just that dilemma, and with only a half-day to spare.

city | art insider borrowed a couple of scooters, known as trottinettes, to speed up the getting around, and to give the boys something to do while their parents enjoyed the galleries.

Thanks to the scooters we fit in eight of the best contemporary art galleries, a photo op at Niki de Saint Phalle’s fountains -- and an unplanned detour into a private fashion exhibition with designers in attendance. We ended with a fantastic traditional lunch in a local bistrot.

Favourites were definitely the Guillaume Bresson exhibit at Galerie Obadia and Taryn Simon’s powerful show at Almine Reich.

And our clients left with a fistful of recommendations for museum exhibitions, at Centre Pompidou, Musée d’Orsay and the Louvre if they had any more time to spare.
