Monet's Waterlilies at Giverny

Escape the city just like the Impressionists a century ago, and follow their path to Giverny with city | art insider.

You'll visit the home of Claude Monet and find yourself back in time: imagining family life in the huge kitchen for his big family; discovering his own wonderful collection of Japanese engravings.

The windows look out over the most glorious gardens you'll ever see.

The artist designed the gardens exactly as he wanted to paint them -- with plantings intended to be immortalized in oils. With an army of gardeners working year round, it is a real beauty, especially in the Spring.

A short walk away is the Museum of Impressionists, where you'll see a collection of Impressionists paintings and temporary exhibitions around Monet.

Full day visit, April - October only.
