Dark romantism, Musée d'Orsay

The Angel of the Odd, Dark romanticism, from Goya to Max Ernst,  is on display at the Musée d'Orsay until June 23. From the 1760s on, artists began to explore "the shadows, excesses and irrational elements that lurked behind the apparent triumph of enlightened Reason."

Always at Musée d'Orsay, A passion for France. The Marlene and Spencer Hays collection shows the paintings from 19th and 20th century collected by an American couple. From Bonnard, Vuillard, Denis Caillebotte to Derain and Matisse...
