There's a new auction house in town with a bold mandate to up-end the traditional ways of art auctions in the city.
Designed around the lifestyles of active collectors, it proposes a longer exhibition window for the sales, with hours suitable for lunchtime and after-work evening viewing. The sales are in the evenings too -- you grab a drink between lots at the bar.
And while we love the dated, musty halls of Drouot, it's fun to imagine how a contemporary auction space can improve on that experience.
The first sale includes a nice selection of paintings, sculpture, design and prints from 19th and 20th c, suitable for any collection.
So come along with us as we discover, with high hopes, Fauve Paris.
