Visit the Rodin museum with us!
The museum's uniqueness stems from the fact that Rodin himself worked here. This 18th-century private mansion close to the Invalides was rented to artists - the dancer Isadora Duncan and the writer Jean Cocteau were other famous residents. Rodin discovered it thanks to the German poet Reiner Maria Rilke in 1908. Initially, he rented four ground-floor rooms and gradually took possession of the entire building, laying the foundation for the Musée Rodin, which opened after his death in 1919.
In this gem of Parisian architecture and the French-style garden, you will discover works of the sculptor, from early beginnings to iconic pieces, as well as antiques from his collections. Camille Claudel who worked for and with him is represented too. You’ll be surprised to discover paintings from his collection and friends, Van Gogh, Monet…
