At the bottom of the Champs Elysées, few meters away from Paris’s most luxurious hotels, the Petit Palais museum and the Grand Palais, the Matignon Avenue has recently regained its position as an unmissable street for the art world. It concentrates most of the biggest auction houses: the international houses of Christie’s and Sotheby’s, as well as the French Artcurial and Piasa.
Since a few years, famous contemporary art galleries are back on Avenue Matignon, choosing the proximity with the high end hotels and easy access for collectors. Gagosian and Kamel Mennour have been joined by Perrotin, White Cube, Skarskedt, Marianne Ibrahim or Jacques Lacoste (for 20th century furniture).
During our visit, we’ll see hot artworks and furniture for sale in the galleries and in the auction houses.

Après de longues années de sommeil, l’avenue Matignon est redevenue récemment un point névralgique pour l’art contemporain à Paris.
